Hello! It’s time for us to delve into the fashions of Arashi ni Shiyagare! Let’s look at them as a group:

Short sleeve button downs are the obvious theme around this episode. And my initial thought was “why don’t they wear sleeveless more often?”. Since they do tend to wear a top layer (usually by way of jacket, blazer, long sleeve) to create interest and depth, putting them in clothing that resembles the season is beautifully refreshing and a great change up from their staple combination of pants, shirt, jacket/blazer and I really do love it. The styling for this episode was pretty simple, but look how awesome each one of them looks! Fashion game was quite strong with the classic pieces they wear. Also, the member color coordinating! I’m a little annoyed that Ohno and Sho aren’t wearing their member colors as Nino, Aiba, and Jun are. It would have been such a perfect episode, fashion-wise, if this happened!

AIBA MASAKI

ShiyaAiba

Amazing. I just think the styling is so extremely fitting for Aiba Masaki. It has this “just got home from bowling, now I can relax” look. Everything looks like it fits wonderfully. Normally a brown and dark green pairing can go very, very wrong, but they style the green top unbuttoned and added a white tank on the inside to basically rejuvenate the whole color combination. The green looks lovely with his complexion as well. Shoes are definitely a safe choice with a neutral tan sneaker to give it a super casual feel.

SCORE: 5/5

NINOMIYA KAZUNARI

ShiyaNino

Nino should really wear this shade of yellow more often because it’s gorgeous on him! It’s more of a warm yellow, almost a mustard. The sleeve length is perfect as we rarely get sight of his upper arms. Again, the black denim with the yellow is a color combination that could go horribly wrong by way of feeling too Halloween-ish, yet the shade matches wonderfully for a sort of cooling-effect. Polka dots elevate the overall endearing look. It was a smart move to have him wear his all the way buttoned as well since I think balance problems could have played in if it was unbuttoned. Overall, A+!

SCORE: 5/5

MATSUMOTO JUN

ShiyaJun

Look at mister fancy in his silky shirt. I read people raving about it on Twitter as this episode aired, but I’m in the minority and am not feeling it. It really does look like a pajama top and his loose pants don’t help to that effect either. The sleeves are a touch too long for my liking. I appreciate the inner black layer, for reasons I can’t totally explain, but there’s something appealing about it to me. He was also wearing these loafers that remind me of house slippers my dad wears. I’m not even sure what I would have changed about the look that would have improved it. Sorry Jun.

SCORE: 2/5

SAKURAI SHO

ShiyaSho

As I’ve raved about the short sleeves throughout this episode, I’m 100% happy about Sho’s look. He rarely gets to show off his arms these days and this little peek sends me through the roof. The sleeve length is pretty perfect for that peek! He gives me some 50’s bad boy feels due to the sleeve length, lovely-fitting bottoms, and saddle shoes (although the 50’s bad boy would not wear saddle shoes). Like it wouldn’t feel at all out of place if we saw a pack of cigarettes tucked into his shoulder fold lol!

SCORE: 5/5

OHNO SATOSHI

ShiyaOhno

I sort of feel like there’s a whole lot of brown tones going on in here with each the khaki pants, red-brown plaid top, brown shoes, dark complexion and normally I would probably just be like “hey tone it down with all the browns!” BUT I am completely enjoying this whole ensemble. As with Nino and Sho, the sleeve length looks wonderful and I love the overall casual feel of his look. The cuff at the pants make him look completely effortless. It’s a classic combo, the khaki and plaid, but Ohno works it without even trying.

SCORE: 4/5

BEST DRESSED: Aiba Masaki and Ninomiya Kazunari TIE! (I couldn’t just pick one!)
WORST DRESSED: Sorry Jun, Matsumoto Jun

This week was so much fun to review as I really did enjoy most of the ensembles they wore! Let us know your thoughts about the fashions in this episode either in the comments below or over on @arashifsquad!
